Wendys Frosty Ingredients

  • Vanilla Soy Milk: Chosen for its creamy texture and subtle vanilla flavor. The milk has been frozen into ice cubes to help achieve the Frosty’s signature thick consistency!
  • Avocado: Provides a silky smooth base by adding healthy fats and a barely-there taste perfect for upping the creaminess.
  • Coconut Cream: Adds richness and enhances the body without overwhelming the chocolate.
  • Cocoa Powder: Delivers the deep chocolate flavor that is quintessential to a chocolate frosty.
  • Maple Syrup: Offers natural sweetness, easily adjustable to cater to your taste preferences. Honey or agave syrup can serve as alternatives.
  • Vanilla Extract: Enhances the sweetness and adds depth to the chocolate flavor.
  • Cashew Butter: Contributes to the velvety texture while providing a nutty undertone. Almond or peanut butter can be used as substitutes however they are slightly stronger in nutty flavour.
  • Cacao Nibs: Optional for topping, these add a crunchy texture and a pure chocolate hit.

How To Make a Wendys Frosty

To recreate the iconic Wendy’s Frosty but healthier, begin with prepping your ingredients. Pour vanilla soy milk into an ice cube tray and freeze until solid; this step is crucial. Freezing your soy milk ensures that your frosty will have the thick, creamy texture just like the original. Once your soy milk cubes are ready, gather the rest of your ingredients — ripe avocado, coconut cream, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and your choice of nut butter.

Next, place all the ingredients into a high-speed blender. Blend everything together until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.

Pour the blended mixture into glasses and, if desired, top with cacao nibs for a delightful crunch that contrasts the creaminess of the frosty. Serve immediately and enjoy a refreshing, guilt-free version of this classic treat.

Is a Wendy’s Frosty a Milkshake or Ice Cream?

The Wendy’s Frosty blurs the lines between a milkshake and soft-serve ice cream. It’s not quite as thick as traditional ice cream, nor as liquid as a milkshake. My vegan version maintains this unique texture, making it a satisfying treat that’s both spoonable and sippable. It’s kind of the best of both worlds!

Notes

**I used a rich and creamy vanilla soy milk for this recipe. It adds a boost of protein and beautiful flavor. You can substitute for plant milk of choice. I’d recommend cashew or oat milk to give the same creamy texture.
** for an added protein boost feel free to add a scoop of your favorite chocolate protein powder. I love OWYN plantbased protein powder. Discount available in my shop.
