Ingredients You’ll Need to Make These Jam Bites

  • Vegan White Chocolate: I love white chocolate as it always offers a creamy and luscious texture that melts in your mouth. It’s the perfect canvas for the vibrant citrus jam, contrasting wonderfully with its tangy sweetness. These are just as delicious with dark chocolate too so feel free to choose whatever your favorite chocolate is!
  • Coconut Oil: A touch of coconut oil is mixed with the white chocolate to achieve a smoother, more manageable consistency that’s easier to work with when coating our jam bites. It also adds a subtle hint of tropical flavor that compliments the citrus notes beautifully.
  • Homemade Citrus Jam: The heart of these bites lies in the zesty, homemade citrus chia jam If you haven’t made that recipe then no sweat! Go make it and come back hehe. Seriously though any jam will do but this citrus jam infuses these bites with a burst of fresh, tangy sweetness and adds a gorgeous color that makes each bite visually appealing. Using my homemade jam also allows you to control the sweetness and ensure there are no unnecessary additives, making these treats as wholesome as they are delicious!

What Citrus To Use?

While I adore making this treat with my homemade citrus chia jam for its punchy and vibrant flavor, feel free to experiment with any citrus jam of your choice. Whether it’s lime, orange, or even grapefruit, the key is to find a flavor that compliments the sweetness of the white chocolate and brings a refreshing zest to the bites.

How to Make White Chocolate Citrus Jam Bites

Making our White Chocolate Citrus Jam Bites is a sweet and simple process that begins with melting vegan white chocolate and coconut oil together in the microwave. Use 30-second intervals to carefully melt the mixture until it’s smooth and creamy. You could also opt for double boiling these over the stove if a microwave isn’t available. This blend forms the silky shell of our bites. Next, take your silicone moulds and coat the bottom and sides with a thin layer of the melted chocolate mix. This step creates the perfect pocket for our citrusy center. Pop the moulds into the freezer for a quick set, which should take just a minute or two.

Once the first layer of chocolate is set, it’s time to bring in the star of the show – the citrus jam. Spoon a teaspoon of this zesty jam into each chocolate-coated mould. The amount of jam can be adjusted depending on the size of your moulds. After filling, cover the jam with another layer of melted white chocolate, sealing the citrusy goodness inside. Return the moulds to the freezer for another brief chill to solidify the final layer, making sure everything is perfectly set.

After the final freeze, your White Chocolate Citrus Jam Bites are almost ready. Take the moulds out of the freezer, and add a final touch by drizzling them with any remaining white chocolate for a beautiful, professional finish. A quick return to the freezer ensures everything is set. This doesn’t take long and I know you’re probably antsy to try them so pop one out and give it a bite!

How Long Do These White Chocolate Citrus Jam Bites Last?

Stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, these delightful bites can last up to two weeks, making them a great make-ahead treat for gatherings, gifts, or just to have on hand for when sweet cravings strike.

Have fun creating these jam bites! There is no wrong way to do them and they are a great activity to share with the kiddos! Have no baking, baking!

Notes

**I HIGHLY recommend using my easy citrus chia jam for this recipe. It only takes 15 minutes to make! And is so vibrant and punchy and a perfect counterpart to the sweet and creamy chocolate. Grab the recipe here. You can of course sub for a lime or orange jam if you choose 🙂
** I personally LOVE white chocolate but I’ve also made these with dark chocolate and they are a dream! So delicious! So feel free to use any chocolate you prefer. Again. I opted for vegan chocolate but you can use dairy for all my non-vegan friends!
** I used these adorable Reese silicone moulds that are available in my shop. You could also use muffin tins with cupcake liners or any silicone mould you like! Just adjust the amount of chocolate and filling to fit whatever size mould you use.
