You never know how easy something is until you try it! When I first tried making my own sauces, spreads and dressings I was wondering “What the heck have I gotten myself into!?” I quickly realized that it was so much easier than I thought.. and to boot, a three ingredient jam?! Who ever heard of something so amazing? Welcome to my kitchen friends! Today we are going to make a raspberry jam that is so easy you will never think twice again about purchasing a spread filled with preservatives and unknown words! When you read the ingredient list below you will smile at its simplicity…
Making this jam is as easy as reading the list of ingredients! You don’t need much other than a few tools like a pot, and a jar.
Start by mashing the raspberries in the saucepan and then bringing them to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat and add chia seeds and sweetener, then mix. Take your time and let the jam totally cool off before you put it into jars. Once jarred, refrigerate between uses.
What I love about this recipe is the lack of pectin. This jam recipe only has ingredients that I know how to say and are without compounds, preservatives or anything else. If you are considering making it last a little longer I have read of people putting in a squeeze of lemon juice however it’s so delicious that I am sure you will finish this raspberry jam in NO time!
This recipe uses chia seeds as a natural thickener, making it an easy and healthier alternative to traditional jam recipes that rely on pectin.
The options are endless. I kid you not, raspberry jam is pretty dang amazing with everything. I love it on toast, I love it in overnight oats, I love taking a spoonful of it when I’m craving something sweet and I also enjoy adding it to smoothies. You could create a really delicious parfait; add it to a homemade salad dressing, or even as a cake filling. Whatever you do with it, make sure you let me know!! I love being inspired by all the ways that you all create my recipes.
