Cozy Peanut Butter Protein Porridge

Indulge in the simplicity of our Cozy Peanut Butter Protein Porridge, a quick and easy breakfast bursting with healthy fats, iron, and plant-based protein. In just 5 minutes, whip up this satisfying bowl of gluten-free oats cooked to perfection with hemp milk, cinnamon, and a scoop of vanilla protein powder. Topped with fresh apricots, banana, hemp seeds, peanut butter, and pepitas, it's the ultimate morning comfort food that keeps you energized all day long.

There’s something undeniably comforting about a warm bowl of oatmeal in the morning. It’s like a cozy hug for your taste buds and a hearty embrace for your soul. But not just any oatmeal – we’re talking about our Cozy Peanut Butter Protein Porridge, a breakfast that combines simplicity, nourishment, and pure delight in every spoonful.

What you will need:

  • OATS: I created these oats to be gluten free. But normal old fashioned oats will be awesome too. Oats keep you satisfied for longer and provide you with energy. They are three most perfect ways to start the day. 
  • HEMP MILK: I chose hemp milk as it contains extra protein. You can absolutely use any plant milk of choice! 
  • CINNAMON: Cinnamon!!  Just the smell of it reminds me of home! Cinnamon and oats. Cinnamon and banana. Cinnamon and pb! All of them are ultimate love matches! Cinnamon in cooked oats is such a must!!!
  • PROTEIN POWDER: I used vegan vanilla protein powder. You can absolutely sub for any protein of choice. But just keep it to vanilla if possible. 
  • MAPLE SYRUP: I like things on the sweeter side so feel free to omit completely if you don’t. Maple syrup is a great natural sweetener and it’s caramel tones match perfectly with the warm cozy oats 
  • APRICOTS: If in season these are a must. Perfectly juicy and slightly tart they pair sooo well with the thick, slightly sweet oats! You can sub for any stone fruit of choice. 
  • BANANA: Cos bananas and oats are true love! Adding sweetness and fiber and essential minerals. Bananas not only taste amazing, they aid in maintaining a healthy digestive system too. 
  • HEMP SEEDS: Are such a great addition to your diet. Packed with plant protein and healthy fats. A little goes a long way so you can simply add them to smoothies, trail mix and of course oats! 
  • PEANUT BUTTER: There’s something about swirling pb through hot oats! One of my absolute favorites! Try to look out for natural pb to avoid all those additives. It’s such a great slice of added protein and helps give you energy and sustains you for longer. 
  • PEPITAS OR PUMPKIN SEEDS: Are one of my most favorite snacks. I add them to so many dishes for the crunch! They are packed with iron, healthy fats and protein too. They can be calorie dense so don’t nibble on too many but adding just a little yo oats as we are doing here Is perfection!

Cozy Peanut Butter Protein Porridge

Pepitas, Peanut Butter, Protein, Punk yeah! Natural plant based protein, packed full of nutrient dense goodies. Sometimes the simplest things in life are the sweetest!
This beaut of a brekkie is ready in 5 minutes and is packed with healthy fats, iron, and protein. This one is for sweat pants and cuddles! Or an awesome pre or post workout! These oats will get that bod into gear for a beaut of a day!

Ingredients
  

Ingredients

  • ½ cup gluten free oats
  • ½ cup hemp milk
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Topping Ingredients

  • apricots
  • ½ banana
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp pepitas (pumpkin seeds)

Instructions
 

  • To a saucepan add your oats, hemp milk, water, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer until your oats have reached your desired consistency. (For a looser consistency add a splash of extra hemp milk)
  • Once cooked. Remove from heat and stir in your protein powder.
  • Spoon into your bowl and top with your apricot, hemp, pb, banana and pepitas. Or any toppings your little heart desires!
