Eating your favorite dessert for breakfast doesn't have to be a bad thing because I've made the ideal Sugar Cookie Protein Smoothie that's not only vegan, but it's also packed with protein, and mimics the flavor of a sugar cookie while remaining refined sugar free!

Sugar Cookie Protein Smoothies for Everyone!

In the world of breakfast options, smoothies hold a special place as you may know by now. They are just too convenient for their own good; combining ease of preparation with endless flavor possibilities and you’ve got yourself a fool proof breakfast option when you’re feeling sluggish or uninspired. I put together this Sugar Cookie Protein Smoothie option out of the desire for sugar cookies but in the morning. While I’m totally an adult and nobody can tell me that I can’t have cookies for breakfast – I do cherish all the hard work I put into going to my fitness classes in the morning and my body so I always opt for a healthy start to my day and digestion. This Sugar Cookie Protein Smoothie ticks all my boxes on morning when I am craving sugar for breakfast and now I’m sharing it with all of you so you’ve got yourself a solution to this craving that I know I’m not alone with! So let’s dive into how this high-protein smoothie can become your new go-to breakfast, snack, or dessert option.

Ingredients For Your Sugar Cookie Smoothie

  • Oats: Oats are a fantastic source of fiber, particularly beta-glucan, which is known for its cholesterol-lowering effects. They add a creamy texture to the smoothie while providing a slow release of energy, keeping you full and satisfied for longer.
  • Cashew Butter: Cashew butter not only contributes to the smoothie’s creaminess but also adds a subtle nutty flavor that compliments the vanilla and almond notes. It’s rich in healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals, making it a nutritious addition that enhances the overall richness of the smoothie.
  • Vegan Vanilla Protein Powder (OWYN): I went with one of my favorite protein powders for this recipe since it has a high protein content, vital for muscle repair and growth. It also has a really creamy – not gritty texture when combined with other ingredients and the vanilla flavor closely mimics the taste of a sugar cookie.
  • Vanilla Extract: A splash of vanilla extract intensifies the smoothie’s sweet, aromatic flavor profile, reinforcing the sugar cookie theme.
  • Pinch of Salt: Just a pinch of salt can greatly amplify the flavors of the other ingredients, creating a depth of taste and bringing out the sweetness of the smoothie.
  • Ice: Ice is crucial for achieving the thick, frosty texture that makes this smoothie so refreshing. It also helps to cool the smoothie, making it a perfect treat for warm days or after a workout.
  • Oat Milk: Oat milk is chosen for its naturally sweet flavor and creamy consistency, which contributes to the smoothie’s rich texture. It’s a great dairy-free alternative that is also low in fat and contains no cholesterol, making it a heart-healthy option.
  • Vegan Almond Whipped Topping: This whipped is something special y’all; it adds a luxurious creaminess to the smoothie, enhancing its dessert-like quality. This is totally optional but oh so lovely.
  • Sprinkles: Adding sprinkles on top of the vegan whip introduces a fun, colorful element to this smoothie. If you’re tryna get the kiddos to indulge in healthy drinks this is a surefire way to do it!

How to Make this High Protein Smoothie

Whipping up a Sugar Cookie Protein Smoothie is a breeze and a delightful way to start your day or enjoy a guilt-free treat. Begin by tossing all the ingredients—oats for that heart-healthy fiber, cashew butter for a dose of good fats and creaminess, vegan vanilla protein powder for a protein punch, a hint of vanilla extract for that warm, comforting flavor, a pinch of salt to enhance all the sweet notes, and ice and oat milk for the perfect frosty texture—into a high-speed blender. Blend everything until you achieve a smooth, creamy consistency that’s both indulgent and nourishing. Pour this dreamy smoothie into your favorite glass, then take its dessert status to another level with a generous dollop of almond whipped topping and a sprinkle of colorful sprinkles for a playful finish!

Tips For Making The Perfect Smoothie

  • Achieving the Right Thickness: The key to that thick, creamy texture is the right balance of ice and oat milk. Feel free to adjust the ratios to suit your preference.
  • Protein Powder Choice: The choice of vegan vanilla protein powder can greatly affect the taste. OWYN’s vanilla protein powder not only adds a creamy texture but also infuses the smoothie with a delicious vanilla flavor that compliments the sugar cookie theme. However, use whatever protein powder you have on hand as long as its flavor doesn’t compete too much with the vanilla sugar cookie vibe.
  • Blending: A high-speed blender is your best friend here, ensuring all ingredients are thoroughly combined into a smooth, creamy texture.

** my favorite vegan protein is OWYN, their vanilla is delicious and creamy and has a greens blend included. You can purchase it with a discount using my code. It’s available in my shop!
** I used Whipt Dreams vegan whipped topping. The almond flavor is so perfect to kick off that sugar cookie flavor! Feel free to omit, but I’d suggest adding 1/4 tsp almond essence to replace that flavor 🙂

  1. Omg I made this two days ago and I swear it tastes just like cookie dough!!!! Usually protein powder is chalky but this shake was divine! I added a bit more oat milk and switched up the nut butter due to allergies and it was still fantastic! Will be making this protein shake on the regular!!!!
