Ready for a tropical getaway in a glass? Say hello to my Pina Colada Smoothie! This isn’t just any smoothie; it’s a healthy, vegan version of your favourite beachside beverage. Perfect for a sunny breakfast or as a delightful pick-me-up, this smoothie brings the flavours of the tropics right to your kitchen and will have you singing classics all day long!

Gather These Ingredients and Make Your Own Pina Colada Smoothie

  • Frozen Pineapple Chunks: Packed with vitamin C and manganese, the pineapple is essential to this tropical beverage; offering a sweet, tangy flavour.
  • Frozen Bananas: Adds the necessary creaminess and natural sweetness, plus potassium for energy.
  • Coconut Milk or Coconut Cream: Provides a rich, tropical base and healthy fats and is often my milk of choice when making a more tropical style smoothie.
  • Shredded Coconut: Adds texture and fibre, enhancing the coconut flavour.
  • Vanilla Plant-Based Yogurt: Creamy and rich in probiotics for gut health.
  • Turmeric (optional): This one is optional but is amazing for colour and turmeric is also a superfood known for its anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Vegan Whipped Topping: For a luxurious finish.
  • Fresh Pineapple Slice: For garnish, adds freshness and a tropical flair.

Making this Tropical Smoothie 

This breakfast is made faster than you can say “pina colada”! All you have to do is blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy. Pour it into your favourite glass (like my adorable pineapple glass from the shop), top it with vegan whipped cream, and garnish with a slice of fresh pineapple. Voila! You’ve got yourself a healthful, tropical delight.

Pina Colada Smoothie

Who wants a pina colada for breakfast!?! Haha well now you can. And guess what!? It’s HEALTHY TOO! This amazing smoothie can be a delicious start to the morning or even a fun and healthy drink to serve your friends and family! Made with all those familiar pina colada flavors like coconut and pineapple with added nutrient benefits of turmeric. This delicious tropical smoothie will have you glowing from the inside out!

Equipment

  • blender

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • cups coconut milk or coconut cream
  • ¼ cup shredded coconut
  • ½ cup vanilla plant based yogurt
  • dash of turmeric optional
  • vegan whipped topping and slice of fresh pineapple for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Simply add all ingredients into a high speed blender and Blend until silky smooth.
  • Pour your smoothie into a glass. (I opted for my favorite pineapple glass) **available in my shop my favorites section.
  • Then top with vegan whipped topping and a slice of fresh pineapple

Notes

If pineapple isn’t available I’ve also created this with just mango and it’s DELICIOUS!!
** for an extra protein boost add 1 scoop of plantbased vanilla protein powder
