There’s something undeniably charming about homemade pink lemonade. It’s vibrant colour and refreshing flavor makes it the perfect companion for warm afternoons and cozy dinners alike. Today I am sharing with you a recipe that is close to my heart with a modern twist. I’ve used pink pitaya powder to take this homemade pink lemonade to another level! 

The Ingredients for Homemade Pink Lemonade 

  • Lemons: The heart of this refreshing drink is lemons of course! They provide the essential tart and zesty flavour that defines lemonade. Fresh lemon juice also offers a natural source of Vitamin C which is ideal at this time of year.
  • Maple Syrup/Vegan Honey/Sweetener of Choice: Using any of these natural sweeteners is the refined sugar choice and helps to balance the tartness of the lemon. This ingredient can be adjusted according to personal taste preferences and dietary needs.
  • Ice: Used to chill the lemonade, making it more refreshing and enjoyable, especially on warm days.
  • Cold Filtered Water: This dilutes the lemon juice and sweetener to create a well-balanced beverage.
  • Coconut Water: Adds a subtle tropical flavour and natural sweetness. Coconut water is also known for its hydrating properties and electrolytes, making the lemonade more refreshing and hydrating. 
  • Pink Pitaya Powder: This ingredient is key to giving the lemonade its signature pink hue. Pink pitaya (also known as dragon fruit) powder also adds a slightly fruity flavour and is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.
  • Fresh Lemon Slices: This is primarily for garnish but with good reason; it makes the drink so cute!

My recipe uses freshly squeezed lemon juice, ensuring every sip is packed with the real taste of fresh lemons. Combined with natural sweeteners and a special ingredient for that signature pink hue. You can easily make this drink in a larger batch and share it with friends, keep it refrigerated for whenever the mood strikes. It’s also extremely refreshing after a workout!

Homemade Pink Lemonade

This is one of those recipes that floods your mind with nostalgia and memories! I grew up on pink lemonade! Sweet and tart and the ultimate refresher! So I had to recreate it with some fun twists! My recipe is just like you remember but with the bonus of being all natural! Refined sugar free, full of electrolytes and naturally dyed pink using superfoods!

Equipment

  • blender

Ingredients
  

  • 5 lemons juiced
  • cup maple syrup, vegan honey, or sweetener of choice adjust to taste
  • 1 cup ice
  • 3 cups cold filtered water
  • cups coconut water
  • 1 tsp pink pitaya powder I used Nature Restore
  • fresh lemon slices for garnish
  • extra ice to serve

Instructions
 

  • Simply add all ingredients into a blender and blend until thoroughly combined.
  • To serve. Pour over ice, garnish with fresh lemon slices and enjoy!
  • Store the lemonade in the fridge for up to a week 🙂
