How to Make This Copycat Starbucks Iced Peppermint Mocha Latte

Making this peppermint mocha recipe is super easy and quick—because who has time for complicated coffee?

Brew and chill the espresso

Brew 2 shots of espresso and let it cool in the fridge for about 15 minutes. For even faster prep, make it the night before!

Mix the base

In a serving glass, combine the chilled espresso, peppermint syrup, and dark chocolate syrup. Use a frother or stir thoroughly until well mixed.

Add the ice and milk

Fill the glass with ice, then pour in the oat milk and coconut milk. For the best flavor, mix them together before adding to the coffee.

Top it off

Add a dollop of dairy-free whipped cream and some festive Christmas sprinkles (or shaved chocolate). Sip and enjoy your homemade masterpiece!

What Makes the Starbucks Peppermint Mocha SO Good?!

The secret to Starbucks’ peppermint mocha is its balance of flavors: bold espresso, sweet chocolate, and cool peppermint. Add the creamy steamed milk, and you’ve got a drink that’s indulgent yet refreshing. Recreating this magic at home lets you tweak the sweetness, chocolate level, and creaminess to your liking—plus, it’s much easier on your wallet and way healthier! Also it’s made with love – you didn’t just slap it together while secretly hating your job – making a specialty drink at home just feels indulgent and like self care!

What to Serve Iced Peppermint Mocha Latte with

Pair your Iced Peppermint Mocha Latte with festive treats to elevate your holiday vibes. Sugar cookies are perfect for dunking, while peppermint bark adds a sweet, minty complement to the drink. If you’re craving something warm and spiced, cinnamon rolls are the ideal pairing to highlight the cool, creamy peppermint flavors.

Tips for Making This Copycat Starbucks Iced Peppermint Mocha Latte

  • Chill your espresso: Cold coffee blends better with the other ingredients and keeps your drink perfectly chilled.
  • Use high-quality chocolate syrup: A slightly bitter syrup balances the sweetness of the peppermint and makes the drink taste more sophisticated.
  • Adjust the peppermint: If you prefer a less sweet drink, swap peppermint syrup for a few drops of peppermint extract.
  • Mix your milks: Combining oat and coconut milk creates the perfect creamy texture, but feel free to use your favorite non-dairy or regular milk.
