Ingredients for Crispy Herb and Cheese Chicken Fritters

To make these cheesy chicken fritters, you’ll need basic pantry and fridge staples.

  • Chicken breasts: Finely diced boneless skinless chicken breast gives these chicken fritters their juicy bite and protein power. If you prefer dark meat – feel free to use that instead.
  • Cheese: I used parmesan but you could totally use a combo or another cheese if you wanted. Whether you use dairy free, a combination or one cheese you’ll get that gooey, melty, savory flavor. You could also sub in cheddar cheese for a sharper twist.
  • Eggs and flour: Help bind everything together and create that classic fritter texture.
  • Herbs and seasonings: Fresh parsley, green onions, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper make these herb and cheese chicken fritters fragrant and flavorful.
  • Mayonnaise: Adds moisture and richness to the mix.
  • Coconut oil: Perfect for pan-frying and achieving that golden-brown finish. Olive oil works as well.

Herb and Garlic Aioli Ingredients

  • Mayonnaise: Necessary for any aioli, mayo creates the creamy, rich base for that classic smooth texture and flavor.
  • Minced garlic: Adds a punchy, savory kick that brings the whole dip to life. You can also use garlic powder in a pinch!
  • Lemon juice: Brightens the aioli with a fresh, zesty tang that balances the richness of the mayo.
  • Fresh chopped parsley or dill: Introduces a herby freshness that pairs perfectly with the chicken fritters.

How To Make These Herb and Cheese Chicken Fritters

This simple chicken fritters recipe comes together quickly in a few easy steps:

Chop & Mix

Start by finely dicing the chicken breasts and add to a large bowl. Grate all your cheeses and stir in mayo, eggs, flour, cheese, herbs, and all seasonings until well combined. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for at least 20 minutes. This gives the mix a chance to firm up and the flavors to meld.

Fry

Heat a skillet over medium and add coconut oil. Scoop the mixture in heaping tablespoons, press into fritter shapes, and pan-fry for 4–5 minutes per side until crispy and cooked through. Continue frying until all your chicken and cheese fritters are golden brown.

Serve

Whip up a quick garlic herb aioli using mayo, lemon, garlic, and fresh herbs. Serve the fritters hot with a squeeze of lemon and a generous dollop of aioli.

What to Serve with These Cheesy Chicken Fritters

These fried chicken fritters are incredibly versatile and pair well with a variety of sides. Serve them with a crisp salad for a light, balanced dinner or air fryer veggies for a satisfying low carb meal. They’re also delicious dipped in honey mustard, ranch, or your favorite sauce. You can even tuck them into a wrap or pita for an easy, portable lunch.
