Pineapple Coconut Blue Spirulina Smoothie

A creamy tropical smoothie that tastes like a mini vacation in a glass. Filled with bright pineapple, coconut, banana, and a dreamy swirl of blue spirulina and yogurt for that signature lagoon color.

On mornings when I want something that feels a little like a vacation in a glass, I always come back to this Pineapple Coconut Blue Spirulina Smoothie. It’s creamy, tropical, and bright with that dreamy lagoon-blue color from blue spirulina. It’s the kind of smoothie that makes you pause for a second before you even take a sip.

If you’ve already made my Hawaiian Blue Spirulina Smoothie, you’ll know I’m a little obsessed with blue spirulina haha. This version just takes things in a creamier pineapple coconut direction.

I’ve always been a big smoothie person, but I love finding small twists that make them feel a bit more special, and in this one it’s the frozen green grapes that do exactly that. They add this subtle sweetness and icy texture that blends so beautifully with pineapple, coconut water, and banana, creating a smoothie that’s both refreshing and indulgent at the same time. It’s simple, vibrant, and just a little unexpected, in the best possible way.

If you’re anything like me, you want a smoothie that feels a little bit extra 😉 not just “healthy,” but fun, beautiful, and something you actually look forward to drinking!

This one is exactly that.

It’s:

  • Creamy and tropical
  • Naturally sweet from fruit
  • Packed with coconut flavor
  • Brightened with blue spirulina for that lagoon-blue color
  • Topped like a dessert (yes, we’re doing yogurt + coconut here)
  • And the surprising addition of frozen grapes!

What Makes Blue Spirulina Special?

Blue spirulina is what gives this smoothie its stunning ocean-blue color, but don’t worry, it doesn’t taste fishy or overpowering at all!

Unlike regular green spiraling, It’s actually very mild, so it lets the pineapple, coconut, grapes and banana shine while just giving that “wow” color moment.

Tips for the Best Smoothie

  • Use frozen pineapple for a thicker, ice-cream-like texture
  • Don’t skip the banana, it makes everything creamy and smooth
  • Adjust blue spirulina slowly,  a little goes a long way
  • Want it sweeter? Just add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup
  • Want it thicker? Add more yogurt or a few extra frozen grapes

Fun Variations

You can easily tweak this depending on your mood:

  • Add papaya for an even more tropical twist
  • Swap yogurt for coconut yogurt for a dairy-free version
  • Add ice if you want it extra slushy
  • Turn it into a smoothie bowl and top with granola + extra coconut

A Note on This Smoothie (and a little sibling recipe love)

If you’ve already made my Hawaiian Blue Spirulina Smoothie, you’ll notice this one is its creamier, more dessert-like cousin.

The Hawaiian version leans more tropical-island fresh, while this one goes all in on pineapple coconut richness and that Blue Lagoon aesthetic.

They’re part of the same little blue spirulina family, just with different personalities.
