Viral Dubai Chocolate Bar

The Dubai Chocolate Bar has taken the internet by storm, and it really is no surprise! This luxurious pistachio chocolate bar combines crispy kataifi pastry, buttery pistachio cream, and smooth melted chocolate for an irresistible bite. It’s crunchy, creamy, and packed with the nutty sweetness from one of my favorite nuts - pistachios! With just a few ingredients and some patience, you’ll have the perfect homemade chocolate bar to impress your friends and family.

Equipment

  • Silicone chocolate bar molds, fridge, microwave

Ingredients

  • 4-5 rye thins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips dark or milk
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil divided
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 8 oz pistachio butter
  • 6 oz kataifi shredded phyllo dough

Optional for design

  • ¼ cup white chocolate chips
  • ¼ tsp matcha powder

Instructions

  • Add the white chocolate and matcha powder (if using) to a microwave-safe bowl and melt in 20 second increments in the microwave, then using a spoon, drizzle into the chocolate molds and leave to set in the fridge.
  • Next, in a small bowl, add the chocolate chips and 1 Tbsp of coconut oil and melt in the microwave in 20 seconds increments until thoroughly melted
  • Place 2 Tbsp of melted chocolate into each chocolate mold and using a spoon spread all over the bottom and side of the molds. Then place the mold in the fridge for the chocolate to set.
  • Place the 2 Tbsp of coconut oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the shredded kataifi to the pan. Cook the kataifi for a few minutes while continuously mixing until golden brown.
  • Add the golden brown kataifi to a large mixing bowl and add the pistachio butter and tahini and mix thoroughly.
  • Divide the pistachio filling mixture equally into the chocolate molds. Press and Spread them out evenly.
  • Add a layer of crunchy rye thins on top of the pistachio filling
  • Next, add another 2 Tbs or more of the chocolate to each one to cover the filling. Spread them out using a spoon. And tap the sides to even it out.
  • Allow it to set in the fridge for around 30 minutes. Remove from molds and Enjoy.

Notes

I used a combination of both dark and milk chocolate. I highly recommend dark chocolate as it cuts through the sweetness of the filling. But use whichever you prefer.
Some ingredients are harder to source locally. I ordered many of them online and will link them below.
