Large sheet pan, oven, spatula, aluminum foil, microwave, saucepan, chopstick
- 18 Sourdough rye thins or cracker of choice
- 1 cup Butter
- 1 cup Brown sugar
- ¾ lb White chocolate almond bark will work as well
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- 1½ cups Pink candy melts
- Strawberry jam or spread of choice
- Valentine’s sprinkles
- Marshmallows I used cute heart shapped ones!
Preheat oven to 325d.
Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil, and then lay sourdough rye thins directly on the pan and set aside.
Make the caramel base by melting butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until melted and bubbling (around 10 minutes).
Pour the caramel over the cracker base, spread out evenly with a spatula and then bake in the oven at 325 for 10-15 minutes.
While the caramel layer is baking, melt white chocolate with coconut oil, and the candy melts in separate bowls or saucepans. Either double boil on the stove or use a microwave.
Once the base is finished baking, pour melted white chocolate on top of caramel base and smooth it out evenly.
Add small circles of strawberry jam/spread on top of white chocolate layer in varying sizes.
Repeat this process with the pink candy melts. Then using a chopstick or butter knife begin swirling both the fruit spread and candy melts circles through the white chocolate to create a beautiful marbled effect.
Finally, add sprinkles and marshmallow hearts on top and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until fully set.
Now you’re ready to CRACK! With either your hands or a knife, cut/break apart your crack into smaller bite-sized chards, add to a platter or a bowl, and you’re ready to bite into this fun, sweet treat!
