Equipment

  • oven
  • sheet pan

Ingredients

  • 1  package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup sautéed shaved steak, seasoned to taste
  • 16 cubes, cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice the cheddar and cut it into 16 cubes, approximately ½–¾ inch each. Set aside.
  • Unroll the crescent dough and cut each triangle in half to make 16 smaller triangles.
  • Gently press down on the wide end of each triangle to flatten slightly. Add a spoonful of sautéed shaved steak, then place one cube of cheddar cheese on top.
  • Starting from the wide end, roll the dough forward over the filling, tucking in the cheese and steak as you go. Wrap the pointed tip around and underneath to seal each bite.
  • Place the bites on the prepared baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle evenly with everything bagel seasoning.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted inside.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes, then serve warm

Notes

Do not overfill the crescent dough, as this can make the bites difficult to seal.
Pre-cooked leftover steak can be used in place of freshly sautéed shaved steak.
Cheddar can be substituted with provolone, pepper Jack, or mozzarella.
For the best texture, serve these bites warm while the cheese is melted.
Keep an eye on them during the last few minutes of baking to prevent the crescent dough from becoming too dark.
Sriracha Mayo: Mix mayonnaise with sriracha to taste and serve alongside the warm steak bites for dipping.
